These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of The Life, operated by NCS Productions Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

The Service

The Life is an interactive entertainment experience presenting historical scenarios drawn from organised crime history. Players make choices and are shown both an in-fiction outcome and a summary of what actually happened historically.

This is entertainment, not a historical reference. While we aim for historical accuracy in the “what really happened” sections, content is summarised and simplified for gameplay purposes and should not be relied upon as an authoritative historical source.

Accounts

You need an account (email-based, no password) to use the Service. You’re responsible for keeping access to your email account secure, since that’s how you sign in. You must be 18 or older to create an account.

Subscriptions and Billing

The Service offers a free tier and two paid subscription tiers (Made Member and The Don), billed monthly via Stripe.

• Subscriptions automatically renew each month until cancelled.
• You can cancel at any time; your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period, after which it will not renew.
• Prices are shown inclusive of any applicable tax.
• We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable notice to existing subscribers.

Free Tier Limits

Free accounts are limited to a set number of scenario plays per calendar month. This limit resets at the start of each month. We may adjust this limit from time to time.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to circumvent free-tier limits, paywalls, or tier-based content restrictions
• Use the Service to generate, request, or attempt to extract content for purposes unrelated to normal gameplay (including misuse of the AI chat feature)
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users’ accounts or data

The AI “Consigliere” Feature

Made Member and Don subscribers can chat with an AI-powered “Consigliere” about scenarios they’ve played. Responses are AI-generated, intended for entertainment, and may occasionally be inaccurate. Don’t rely on them as a factual source.

Intellectual Property

All scenario content, game design, and branding are the property of NCS Productions Ltd. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from the Service’s content without permission.

Some pages, particularly downloadable “case files” for Don subscribers, contain affiliate links (e.g. to Amazon). See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, NCS Productions Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time by contacting us.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
